I don't know if they ever will come off, but I can tell you that I use Clorox Disinfecting wipes on my notebook screen. Yes, it does work (If you can do it right) and gets it perfectly clean! You just have to make sure that you wipe it off the screen quickly, though, because it will leave a few streaks. It may take care of the palmrest, too. I use the clorox on all external parts of the computer (but with it off, of course). Just make sure it has no bleach in it.

I may sound crazy, but it is TRUE! I DO clean my screen with Clorox.

That's probably not a good idea due to the chemicals in the wipes.  A damp diaper or other soft cloth, buffed with a dry soft cloth, works great.  Many chemicals will harm an LCD screen.

I've used Clorox countless times, though. I mean, it saves $$$ by you not having to pay for an LCD screen cleaner. Bleach would harm the computer, yes, but this is bleach-free stuff.

I've had laptops for close to 10 years, and found that H2O works just fine, you don't need an LCD cleaner or anything else.

I know that the wipes don't have bleach, but they do have other chemicals.
