Yea, you shouldn't have ordered that screen, but that's OK, it will give it more value if you decide to resell it later on down the road. While you're using it, just increase the DPI like people have mentioned. Another suggestion, I dunno what web browser you use, but with Mozilla you can hit CTRL + (actually hit the "+" key ;) ) to make the web text bigger, or CTRL - to make it smaller. With IE you have to go through the view menu, I believe. I dunno if there is a shortcut for it like there is with Mozilla. Now would be a good time to switch to Mozilla if you haven't done so already btw, your eyes will thank you! I know mine do, I too don't have the greatest of eyesight, and I'm running an SXGA+ screen.
I personally do not use the scaling utility, or the DPI change. I just change all my windoes appearance fonts, icons, title bars, etc manually. It takes a bit of time to get everything set the way you want it using this method, but well worth it IMO.
