Check the "Fn" key. Maybe the Fn key is dead. If it's true, un-plug the power, and take out the battary. Then push down the power on/off button, and hold it for a little long time. This maybe can reactive the "Fn" key.

Did you try to install the newest video driver released by Dell?

Can you toggle CRT/LCD with the nView in the video control panel?

Try to uninstall any mouse and keyboard driver except which provided by the OS.

Yes.  That works fine.  I can use the control panel for nView *or* the display properties in XP to activate my second monitor, etc...

And maybe you should use the Dell Diagnoses Program to test your keyboard.

Keyboard is fine... Something else odd is going on here.. But that's for the suggestion..
