Inspiron 5160 & Dell wireless 1450 card

Question

I installed this card on my laptop & it works but when it connects at home it usually connects at 1mbps. I can't figure out how to make it connect at a higher speed.   The thing is this card can connect at a, b, and g speeds and I have a b/g modem. It definately doesnt have anything to do with the setup because the other laptops in the house connect at 54 Mbps. I am assuming my laptop is connecting at a speed and that need to be change.   Please help. Any suggestions are welcomed.

You have the same setup as me.  Make sure you are using the latest drivers from Dell.  Also, go to http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php and run their TCP Optimizer program. Steve
