Inspiron 8600 motherboard blown-up need help on purchase of new one!

Question

I am trying to fix a problem with motherboard that will not charge battery or run from mains. I have tested power out from transformer all OK, have cleaned and made sure contacts on motherboard power in are OK so have now come to the conclusion that the motherboard is US. If anyone has any idea's or can point me in the right directions for a cheap replacment or has a clue how much it will cost to replace I would be gratful.

I am in the UK so if anyone has a part number or contact phone number would be grateful. If anyone knows of any post tests I can run to find fault or voltage test for the motherboard so I can find out if it is completly useless.

if you dont need to be mobile, the dell docking station may power your comp for you. it has worked for others before, good luck. i also see motherboards for sale on ebay going for 200-300 us best wishes
