Could you be a little bit more specific on what all you have tried doing? And also, what you are trying to display on the projector? For example: are you trying to extend your desktop on it? or display exactly what is on the laptop?
thanks a lot for replying. i am trying to do a powerpoint presentation, so i want to display what is in the laptop. I have a new laptop (compaq presario v2205). the projector seems to be working with my old toshiba laptop. i tried connecting the laptop to one of the old monitors that i have (to see if the connector has a problem) and it works. i just find it very odd that it doesn't seem to work with my new laptop. i tried contacting compaq and they made me do a lot of settings(changes) for it but unfortunately ended up with the same problem.
The place I connect with this thread is the wide screen. We recently got a Dell Dimension with wide flat-panel and the display on it looked really weird (stretched) until I downloaded and installed special software for that monitor. The software did not come in the box but had to be downloaded. If there is similar software for your laptop computer and it is already installed then perhaps there is something strange about it because of the wide screen. I am wondering if something has to be disabled or removed to make the projector and computer sync up.
