Dell has already updated the driver for that card just a short time ago, but you can also go to a site listed below for more information on that system you just bought. Click on the link and scroll down to the Dell notebook forum and have a nice read. They will give information as to what driver is best and where to find them
I have had this laptop for about a month now and I stupidly had win xp media edition which was a big mistake. I quickly took that out and put in win xp pro.......
I since have had numerous problems with gaming, which is what I basically bought this laptop for.
I first thought it was limited to Brothers in Arms which would mysteriously just quit and do a blue screen reboot, but then as I put more games on the machine I found that when I tried to play a game it would play for a bit sometimes seconds sometimes minutes and then it will just freeze up and I would have to do a hard reeboot.
I've tried several different drivers from forceware to others and found them to be even worse, so I downloaded driver cleaner pro, booted up in safe mode removed all drivers, cleaned registry and just reloaded drivers that Dell provides.
I guess I'll just have to wait and see if they release new drivers for this 6800 card and if not I may have to look at what other options are out there.
As for whether you should be worried, that depends on what you want to do with your laptop, I would say for gaming right now you will probably go through the same thing I'm going through. But for just general usage such as watching movies and internet it has been great.
The other thing I noticed was that there is no specific monitor driver for this wuxga 17 inch monitor. I don't know if that could be contributing to this problem or not.
Let all of us know when you get your machine the results you have, it would be appreciated.
What are the Omega drivers and do they have a specific version number and where do you actually find them?
I've been to several of these sites where they have drivers but there is not much info and your kind of guessing what's what.
I have no problem trying new and different drivers but it seems everything I put in just makes my laptop freeze up problem worse...Does anyone else have this problem?

If you are you need to start putting a bunch of different games in the machine and try to play them to see what happens.....
