Display gets low resolution pinkish cast after being on an hour???

For the last week I have a recurring problem with the display of my three year old Inspiron 2650. After the laptop is on for more than an hour or so the display turns to a low resolution pink cast. The laptop must be rebooted ad the display returns to normal. Another problem that may be related is that the touchpad looses its ability to scroll. This too is corrected by a restart. The problems start up again after the laptop is on for a time. Any suggestions on what the problem might be

The backlight bulb is failing. Contact an LCD repair specialist for a bulb replacement.
