Latitude D800 Touch Pad: Turning Tap to Enter OFF

Question

How do I turn the tap to enter feature off on the touch pad for the Latitude D800. I tried clicking on Control Panel | Mouse Under Mouse, there is no tab for 'Pad' the only options are Buttons, Pointers, Pointer Options, Wheel and Hardware. Exploring all of these options did not uncover any dialog that allows the 'tap to enter' feature to be turned off. Nor is there an icon in the lower right hand corner of the screen for the touch pad. I don't want to disable the touch pad, I just want to turn the 'tap to enter' feature off.

For what its worth, this is an Alps Touch Pad.

I went to find the best ALPS Driver (that I have been enjoying since January 20th)
and now there is a brand new one on the Download site:)

Do you think the ALPS driver will work for a Latitude CPx running XP? I have the same problem with the TouchPad. Don Lotter

Only if your hardware is ALPS.

Thanks for answers. How do I determine if have Alps or Synaptics touchpad on Latitude?

I went to Control Panel, Mouse, drivers etc. but can't find any indication. It just says it has Microsoft mouse driver. No info on touchpad.

Don, '...just says it has Microsoft mouse driver...' that is a dead givaway that your Touchpad Driver was removed. Installation of a USB Mouse Driver will do that, but it is reversable. According to the Dell Download site, you have ALPS, This is a link to the Driver that is listed for CPx I use Go-Back and would be tempted to try the newer version that I listed for the D800, but use caution with that experiment. The link in this post would be the safe solution for your problem. Art
