Hi dbvb

More then likly there is nothing wrong with your display. You will have to adjust it through your bios pages then you can use the Fn+up or down arrows on your key board .It is set that way to use less batery. To change here is the steps.

1.Reboot and continusly press F2 when the bios page pulls up you will see navagation directions on the bottom of your display they tell you which keys to navagate change pages and make changes.

2.Keep changing the page untill you come to a page that says brightness AC and DC bump up the adjustment  for DC or Both if you want. I have mine set to max and i use the Fn+the up and down arrows on my keyboards. The Fn+up and down arrows on your keyboards will only go as bright as the limit you have set in your bios page.

3.Change pages untill you come to the last bios page then click apply changes then close the bios pages.
