There is no console through the serial port, if you have a DRAC card installed you can get to a remote console. Check the manual, there my be a jumper for video that you accidentally moved.
Thanks for the advise, I found a troubleshooting page on the dell support site that I will post if I can find it again.
Ended up that the motherboard went out, but since ther server is still under warranty, no problem. Called dell out yesterday afternoon, server is backup and running.

Hi Clint,
I'm having same problem - No video signal on Poweredge 2850.
I just had server shipped from another location. I did remove the cover and take out and replace the RAID memory module.
I boot it and all seems ok - the LCD at the front is blue, but I have no video signal and it won't go any further .
Do you have the link to to troubleshooting guide?
When you said the motherboard went out, did you mean it was faulty and had to be replaced? Was this very expensive?
