You can get the 9300 with the Nvidia 6800Go, which is able to handle all of today's games on very good settings.

I definitely recommend the 9300 with a GO6800. The only card better right now is the GO6800 ultra, but only the XPS offers that option.

Yeah, I looked at the go6800, but I'm not to thrilled with it. Personally I feel NVida has kind of fallen to the 3dfx syndrome (got complacent). Their hardware seems to lately be a 'what can we throw together to match ATI' rather than good engineering. I really wish Dell would just offer the x700 or x800 as options. It would make a lot of us developer types happy.

The Nvidia Vs. ATI debate will last forever just like XP Vs. OSX, Linux (or whatever OS you prefer) or Intel Vs. AMD. It's all a matter of opinion. They are are all decent companies with quality products. Most people just stay away from what they have been burnt by in the past. Unless, Of course, it's Microsoft. Those guys a pyros, and yet we all continue to jump in the fire. I have a x800 in my pc because it was the most powerful card out when I bought it. I have a go6800 in my 9300 for the same reason. I am happy with the performance of both cards and have never once had a problem with either of them and would recommend, if your buying a notebook in the near future and enjoy gaming, to do same because, unlike the pc, these things can't be replaced easily.

thanks terojas1, It's primarily because I got burned by the geforce 440go (which was pretty much a geforce 2 labeled as A 4) on my current laptop.  Does anyone know a good place to find a comparison of the two cards?

Which two card? The go6800 and x800? I'm sure if you google "go6800 vs x800", you will come up with something. I would also search www.tomshardware.com for past articles, they have tested just about every card out there. You may not get a lot of hits that reference mobile gpus specifically but desktop tests should give you an idea.
