Hi, I have a CPiA with the 400mhz processor. It has a stereo line-in which is not found on late models. It works well for me x-fering my old cassettes to digital. The CPxJ and maybe other CPx models have this line in too.
I saw an answer from another forum member last year about this. At some point Dell decided to drop the built in stereo line-in.
Also, Creative Labs makes a pcmcia sound card, so now it probably does not matter which laptop you buy for the purpose.
