Inspiron 8200 Display error - Color grids everywhere

Question

I was playing World of warcraft when my screen suddenly went bezerk and start display these red,green and blue color grids everywhere. I thought it was a WoW error so i rebooted and the same thing happens. Even the BIOS screen upon startup is distorted. Its like seeing lits colored pixels everywhere and the change colors and blink on and off.   Any suggestions?

Sounds very much like there is a problem with your video card! You can test this out by attaching your laptop to an external monitor. If the same behaviour occurs then your video card is at fault.

i tried hoking up to an external monitor and same thing happened. How do i fix this?

I opened my laptop today and i saw nothing visibly wrong with the internal parts. I also noticed tonight that whenever i depress the centre of the keyboard to make the heat sync on the radeon 9000 touch the heat dispenser( metal underneath the keypad), my screen becomes clear. When i let go off the keypad after depressing it, it gets fuzzy.

Any solutions?
