Network Cable Unplugged message for wireless connection on a Latitude D600

Question

I am trying to set up wireless networking on my laptop at my home.  The physical ethernet connection works, but my wireless connection does not work.  I have entered the SSID # in the settings on my laptop.  I have tried toggling the fn-f2 button, but that doesn't work.  When looking in my dial up and network connections, it states 'Network cable unplugged' for my wireless network connection.  The device manager for the Dell Truemoble 1300 WLAN Mini-PCI card states that it is working properly.  The Dell Truemobile WLAN card utility does not show any available networks, although my router is listed where I added it under the prefered networks area.  Does anyone have any advice on what to try to get this thing working?   Thanks

Go to control Panel and click on Network Connections and then click on new connection wizard. Click on Next/Connect to the internet/Set connection manually/Connect using a Broadband connection that requires a user name and password/Type the name of the isp/Username and password/ Finish. Now go to Internat connection in Control panel and right click on your new wireless connection and view available networks(Highlite your network) and click on enable. Open Internet Explorer and type in your desired home page or right click on IE and choose properties and change your home page.

Start from scratch. Reset the BIOS defaults by going into the BIOS (Tap F2 on the startup screen)   Download the latest drivers for the card from the support site. http://ftp.us.dell.com/network/R102319.EXE   Uninstall the existing driver from Device Manager and remove the Card Utility from Add-Remove Programs. Reboot the computer. Let it load everything and then install the downloaded drivers. That should take care of it.   If it doesn't, give some more details about the exact card that you have (And not just the entry that is in the Device Manager), the router, any interfering factors, etc
