You are correct, it is a vast improvement over the 14.10 driver Dell provides and it is a final release as of the end of June. I was pleasantly surprised at the improvements myself.
Dell has twice now deleted my post because they found my saying that you would be "so" out of luck offensive. ;) So I'll post the information for a third time.
FYI, this is not a Dell download, so if something screws up, you are going to be , *&% ( I cant believe Dell censored that) as far as Dell is concerned. So make all the neccesary backups and make sure you know what your doing. yada yada yada and all that jazz.... It works great on my 700m, an improvement over the Dell driver, but YMMV........ Questar ........one quick question after downloading the new drivers for the 700m, do you notice when you boot up and you go from the flash screen to the desktop as its loading programs the screen flicker as it loads the intel tray icon. Mine does but just that once at the beginning..... almost as if its reading the current setting and quickly adjusting the settings to the current values you had on your last shutdown.
Had not noticed any difference, but dont pay it much attention either. I also dont load the Intel program at start up, I keep my start up pretty small using start up cop.

Yes, Go to Intel and get the updated 14.14 graphics driver. It includes a utility that lets you go to normal screen.
