I do not have that model laptop myself but if an option is available then it would either be somewhere in BIOS or in control panel under mouse.

If the touch pad drivers were correctly installed, you should be able to turn off certain features in the Control Panel under the Mouse option.

If you download the latest touchpad drivers from the dell website you should be able to play with all the options.

I have an XPS (it has both a trackstick and a touchpad, as well as a set of buttons for each) and I can configure just about everything I'd want to (and several things I'd never thought of) with the latest drivers.

Hi ....
Thanks for the tip on the new drivers. I went to driver dl page for dell but not sure which drivers to dl. I placed input device drivers in the box and it takes me to a page with lots of "pointing device drivers" but can you please provide a correct driver for a Insprion 5100 using XP Home. I would like to try it.
