Hi,

I just got a brand new inspiron 9300 and a brand new ram card to go with it, but I don't know how to install it or even how to open the computer.  I've installed hardware on my desktop and I know my mac opens through the keyboard, but not sure how I should approach the inspiron.  I don't want to mess up this new beauty in my life!

Thanks in advance for the help!

Hopefully you bought a stick to match your current one, or bought a matching pair...

Thanks so much for all the help!  That link was just what I needed.  (A lot easier than I expected!)

Thanks for asking about the ram card; it's a Dell made for this computer.

Everything seems to be working well!

Thanks, again!

Whether it was made by Dell (actually bought from Dell since Dell does not make memory) or not, if it does not MATCH the other card then your computer is not using dual channeling.

hi
you can go to the bios and then check the amount of memory installed
restart the computer and then keep on tapping the F2 key at the blue dell logo,it will take you to the bios
