1150 inspiron when it was working i just touched or gently tapped anywhere around the bottom i thought maybe i was grounding out on the laptop so i taped a grounding strip but same thing happened then it started not booting.  when pressing power the power light would just blink like its in suspend mode.   Then finally it wont boot at all just blink like in suspend.  when pressing the power button the fan comes on momentarily an goes off .   I still can eject cdrom and it spins up when a cdrom is put in .

What model laptop is this and where exactly are you touching causing it to turn off?

The reason i say this is a common occurance or so it seems are other models seem to all have the same issue.  Ands i dont see why i need to pay for somthing that is a manufacturing issue

Inspiron 1150

ok if i put pressure  just above the cdrom and below the cdrom i can power on the machine it boots all the way on works fine if i let go sometimes it will power off if i set down gently i can work no problem but if i tap it it will go right off what is happening while im squeezing it that is keeping it from powering off ive tried unhooking the touchpad but i get the same issue. Have replaced everything but the but ive tried removing the cdrom an same thing anyone have any type of insite to what this could be
