inspiron 4150 power failure

Question

My inspiron was running in perfect condition unitil yeterday when it shut down suddenly, i tried to reboot again but the booting would not last for more than 1 minute and the system shuts down again. i waited for the next day and the same thing happened but the laptop stayed on for 5 to 7 minutes this time. i am suspecting the fan might be causing the problem,,  what are the chances my power supply might be the problem.??   thanks guys
