There was a firmware update for the router that addressed this issue. Do you have the latest updates? Update the drivers at Product Support above. Also, when setting up the router and security, make sure you are using a wired ethernet connection instead of the wireless, then use the wireless feature after everything is set up.
Thanks for the advice, I had thought that I had upgraded the firmware but apparently I hadn't successfully done so. I have had a stable internet connection all morning now since the upgrade.
I'm going to try and re-encrypt the router, hopefully it works this time.
