Did you replace the touchpad, or the whole palm-rest ? I would try the Diags, to find out if it is a hardware issue. If you have replaced the whole palm-rest, and are still having trouble it may be the MBD. Has anything been spilled in it ?

I am having the same problem. it seems to work only when it wants to like now. it jumps from spot to spot
