I have the same printer with the same problem. I emailed Dell and they said there are no replacement parts...the only remedy is to replace the printer. This seems ridiculous. Please let me know if you find another way.
That ink cart holding clip is fairly fragile and a number of people have had the same problem. some of them have try various methods of repair that they say worked. Some have used tape or rubber bands to hold the broken catch against the the ink cart holder top. Whatever you do, make sure it holds or the ink cart holder top will fly up during printing and jam against the top of your printer, possibly causing more damage.
Thanks for the replies - I've gone for the tape/fix option, hardly ideal is it? If anyone has any other solutions I would be very grateful - perhaps Dell could be shamed into supplying this small plastic part.
