I've got the same problem people described about Inspiron 700m and flashing screens and freezing after screensaver. Unfortunately, replacing the hard drive didn't do anything. Just now I was using the computer when the screen started flashing back and forth black and white and then just flashing like crazy. Earlier in the day, I left the computer alone for max 10 minutes and came back to find it frozen with little green lines on top.
I have run all the diagnotic tests: motherboard, hard drive, fan, and bla bla bla but the problem is still there. I don't know if I can return it because I've had it since the beginning of September. I just don't know what to do next since Dell seems to want to prove to me that nothing is wrong since their tests don't return any negative results.
