Inspiron 9100 USB problem

Question

Hi.  I recently reinstalled my operating system with a cd different than the one that was sent with my computer originally.  Everything went fine and I downloaded all the drivers and such from the Dell website.  The only problem I'm having is with the USB controller device.  It says that the driver for the device is not installed.  When I connect any USB device to my computer, a message pops up that says 'A Hi-Speed USB device is plugged into a Non Hi-Speed USB port'. Did you install the Intel chipset driver as well as either sp1 or sp2?

I installed the Intel Chipset driver, but I did not install the service pack 1 or 2.  Can I download those from the dell website?

you get sp2 from the windows update site.

I have the same problem with my 8200 saying the external hard drive will not work efficiently because of the non high speed. So basically I need to find the CD that came with the system and reload the intel chipset and then download the SP2? In my previous post I have the ciper strength problem that reads 0 and shoudl be 128 bit. I cannot get online very well and when I do there are many places that will not let me click on. Thanks if you have any information for me. I am transferring all the files and settings to my external hard drive and thinking about a clean reformat.
