I have been getting a 'Code 3' error when I attempt to record a show within MCE and had heard that this was related to McAfee's most recent antivirus update. I contacted McAfee about this today and I was informed that their products are NOT COMPATIBLE with MCE 2005. I found this funny because Dell shipped my new computer with McAfee and MCE2005. Run a McAfee update and it should fix the problem now.

McAfee may have broken it in a past update. Now its working again.

McAfee is compatible with MCE. I talked to a tech and they said it was even though some other techs apparently said it wasn't.

Hi,

Uninstalling the privacy service fixes this but

Mcafee have come up with an latest update, download that and it should take care of the error.no need to uninstall the privacy service.
