the only way this will work, is to get the 3300 wireless print server, otherwise printing is the only thing you will have.

Have you received you're answer yet?  I have a similar situation, however, I can't even print.  I have a new Dell 964 printer which works fine if connected via the USB.  I would like to connect through the Linksys WPS54GU2 print server but I keep getting errors -- (communication, sometimes nothing, sometimes appears as it is going to print but doesn't.  Any thoughts?

Thanks.

I wound up giving up on it and bought another printer. I was able to print with no problem remotely but was never able to use the scanner / fax remotely. So as I said I just ordered another printer. The printer server was not as cost effective as the new printer cost!

Good luck,
Daryl

as i said before, when using a non-dell print server, you will only be able to print. if you want full functionality out of a dell all in one machine, you need the dell 3300 print server, as it's designed for multi function.  most generic print servers (linksys, hp, smc, etc) are only designed for 1 thing. and thats printing. if you want to go multifunction, don't assume you can all features out of a network. check into such things first.  if you want to use a generic print server, go with just a printer, not an all in one unit.

I have the same problem, shared printing no problem, shared scanning big problem.

Is there a solution anyway, lets Dell give the answer.

Always the same error, connect your cable, etc...

HELPPPPPPPPPPP...DAY 4 TRYING TO FIX THIS SCANNER ISSUE.

PC is Dell; each AllinOne Printer/Scanner/Fax I have tried ALL will not download to Scanner.

Under Devise Manager: Imaging Device there is a yellow "!" and it says error - and to  "check cable or power"

However, I have tried 3 different Allinones to no avail.

ANY SUGGESTIONS?

If I must remove XP and redownload...please guide.

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!

p.s. the Scanner/Fax/Printer works fine on my other PC and Laptop??

Please make a new post. State the make and model of your printer. Make of computer, Operating system, 32-bit or 64-bit(32-bit most common) and how you're connecting the printer to the computer, wired(USB) or wireless.

Thanks,
