what is the alert message?

that is what I am trying to figure out.  It is just the little yellow LED in the lower left hand corner of the face plate.  it just blinks.  I need to know how to find out what it means.

Did you check the BIOS for any errors (if your Bios supports event logging) or looked in the ESM to see what the alert is ?

  I looked at the bios and did not see anything,  I do not have any of the dell disk that came with the machine so how do access the ems?

http://support.dell.com put in your tag number, look for Embedded Server Management (ESM sorry I kept calling it EMS)

All I see is firm ware. There is a section fo rsystems managment but it has a ton of items in it. my service tag is g5d66

If the front panel is not on it will blink yellow until the panel is all the way closed.

You need the ESMLOG27.EXE diskette image to run LOG2TXT.EXE to read the ESM Error.

Or you could install open manage and read the ESM LOG that way.

Where can I obtain open manager or the ESMLOG27.EXE ?  When I go to dells web site there are a few opern manager files to choose from but I am not sure wich one I need.
