Both parts are screen specific - SOMETIMES you can swap the bulbs, but the inverter is model-specific (i.e., ifyou have two 1100s, one with a Hitachi screen and the other with a Sharp, the inverters are not interchangeable).

The 1150 says it is part # F1124 Liquid Crystal Display, Extended Graphics Array,  Standard Panel Work Group B, 15, LG.   The 1100, is G0830 Liquid Crystal Display, Extended Graphics Array, Standard Panels Working Group, Burst Mode Inverter, 14.1, Samsung.

I am guessing they would not be interchangeable.  Am I correct????

One is from LG, the other Samsung. You may be able to swap the screens (including the inverter), but the inverters are likely not interchangeable.

Wow, thanks so.... much.  That worked.  Took lids off both computers and swapped them out.  Tight fit for cord from screen to bottom, but does work.  Thank!!!!

was wondering if you can help me, my inspiron 5150 powers on but the screen is very very dim, i can just make out what it shows, the fan starts up pretty quickly as well, can this be a backlight problem as well or is something else "sick"?

Sounds like the bulb and or power supply/inverter as in past posts for this thread on the forum.  That is the same symptom as I had.  You could just barely make out what was on the screen.

I did look on e-bay also and did find a new lid that I could have purchased, but we had several old laptops that had been retired due to other issues and were able to exchange the screen from one and put it on the one with the issues.  It has been running fine since.

(Everyone thought I was I was wierd at work to save all these old dead laptops, but we have scrounged so many parts off them, it isn't even funny.)
