You need to contact Compudirect for warranty service, not Dell. They will deal with Dell on behalf of you since they are Dell's authorized distributor. I purchased the same 2405FPW from compudirectpc.com and spent an hour at Dell's web site trying to register and couldn't do anything without a service tag. Without service tag, I couldn't even send e-mail to ask a question!
I then decided to call Compudirect's customer service to find out how to register my 4-year warranty. The answer was: there is no need to register. They(Compudirect) have your order record. So you can just call Compudirect if you need warranty service.
Since there is no product description in the confirmation e-mail, I was told to log in to Compudirect's web site (you can do this through the link in your order confirmation e-mail if you don't remember the order number) and print out a copy of the order which has the following description: BRAND NEW! Dell UltraSharp 2405FPW 24" LCD Monitor with 4 Year Warranty through Dell. Keep the copy for your record since they didn't provide packing slip when they shipped the monitor.
