Can't type '@' with my keyboard on Inspiron 9300

Question

Hello There, I cant type '@' with my onboard inspiron 9300 keyboard. Usually the key can be typed by pressing 'AltGr' + '2' at the same time, but it won't happen. All the other AltGr + 3, 4 ( '£${[]' ) etc combinations seem to work, only the AltGr + 2 won't. I am using a norwegian Keyboard with English WinXP, bought the PC a month ago from Dell Germany. Of course I can for the purpose of typing an '@' change to US-English keyboard layout using WinXP and using the 'Shift'+'2', but I would really want to fix the small problem so that it would be possible with the norwegian keyboard layout as well... I have the same problem and some Fn key does'nt work. I Have a belgian keyboard and my computer is a new one   Is it a problem of driver? I'm sure that it is correctly configured for belgian keyboard

Find the problem :) Reinstall from the dell cd... and everything 'll work ;)

is there no other solution than reinstalling my OS (windows xp)?, and i ain't got a cd, so i would have to reinstall how? from the dell website? thanks

had the same problem you just have to run msconfig (start menu, run...) and uncheck the nwiz.exe file in the startup folder   it worked for me
