Hi,
You will need a motherboard. It may be that the adapter socket has broken off, which can sometimes be repaired. Does it feel loose ? ( the socket is on the MBD, the MBD breaks near the socket )

It doesn't feel loose.
In fact, it feels as solid as it ever did.
Come to think of it, I had this happen a few weeks ago and I changed the power settings to DeskTop and it worked fine.
Hmmmmm.

Here is a link http://www.parts-people.com/index.php?action=item&id=1167&prevaction=category&previd=18&prevstart=60 You may find one on Ebay. It is the same MBD as an Inspiron 4150.
