Inspiron 8200 Does not recognise Power plugged in but does charge

Hi, wonder if you can shed any light on this. Our Inspiron 8200 laptop has just developed a fault whereby it stays on Battery Power Management even when the power adapter is plugged in. It charges the battery ok, and everything appears to be working (green light on power brick, connection not wobbly), except Windows still says that the laptop is running off the battery. thanks.

It could be a faulty adapter - I'd replace that first.

If that doesn't work, reseat (and if that fails, replace) the DC charger board.
