No it's actually the X1300. 256 MB video card. I'm thinking I need to return it. What is the best video card I can get for my Inspiron 6000 through Dell's website?
there are actually two models for the i6000... the i6000 which uses shared memory from ram for graphics and can never be upgraded as far as graphic cards are concerned... and the i6000d, which uses a dedicated gpu and comes in either the 64mb or 128mb x300... my guess since you mentioned that you needed a pci slot, then you have the former...

based on your post, i would not suggest you do the upgrade yourself... changing a gpu card is about above average in difficulty... that being said i recommend you bring it to a computer shop to have it done or have a friend who's more "experienced" to do it for you... but if you're up to the challenge...
The Dell rep really said that they were compatible? That is awesome. Do you think you could put in an ATI Radeon X700 as well? Let me know if you figure anything out. That is a really awesome idea!
I believe that that is Intel's itegrated graphics card. Not a dedicated card like the ATI x300. From what I have read, you can only update the 64 MB ATI x300 card to a 128 MB ATI x300 card. And yes, I believe your card does have 128 MB of memory, however I think it uses your computer's RAM as well as the processor to run since it is not dedicated. The best way to improve the gaming performancer of your computer would be to upgrade your system RAM, or to use a 7200 RPM hard drive if you aren't using one now. Other than that, you would be better off sticking to gaming on your desktop. I actually have the ATI 128 MB x300 card, and it can handle any game at medium settings, but it is by no means comparable to a desktop. Hope that help! :)

The X1300 is a desktop card - it's not available for notebooks at all, and it's unlikely Dell would ever make a card at that level for this chassis.
The 6000 uses a model-specific ATI X300 card that no one else supplies.

There is no such thing as an X1300 notebook card.

Here's what I found about my video card:
Mobile Intel(R) 915GM/GMS,910GML Express Chipset Family
It says the memory size is 128 MB.
Does this mean my video is capable of 128 MB? Also, is this the 6000 model that isn't upgradable? Sorry, but I'm ingnorant when it comes to laptops.
