OK, at least you have power. Plugging/unplugging hot is never recommended but people do it all the time.
Does the digital light stay green? If so, it's seeing the signal. Have you actually tried the menu button on the screen?
Have you tried the self-test as per the manual:
"1. Turn off both your computer and the monitor.
2. Unplug the video cable from the back of the computer. To ensure proper Self-Test operation, remove both Digital(white connector) and the Analog(blue connector) cables from the back of computer.
3. Turn on the monitor.
The floating 'Dell - self-test Feature Check' dialog box should appear on-screen (against a black background) if the monitor cannot sense a video signal and is working correctly. While in self-test mode, the power LED remains green and the self-test pattern will scroll through the screen continually."
Make sure you unplug both video cables.

Not dumb at all. I'm sitting here typing this into a 1702FP which has both the analog and digital connections - all be it from 2 different PCs. If you connected them from the same PC then the manual has this to say:
"Connect either the white (digital DVI-D) or the blue (analog D-sub) display connector cable to the corresponding video port on the back of your computer. Do not use both cables on the same PC. The only case in which both cables can be used is if they are connected to two different PCs with appropriate video systems."
Of course, it doesn't say what will happen!
Since you can't get the menu up then you can't do a reset. Do you see any power indication on the monitor or any sign of life at all?
Yes, the power light starts orange --- then flashes to green.
The digital and analog lights are correct and now I tried the digital only connection. It's green on the digital side.
I've rebooted.... by killing the power since I cannot view XP Pro.. and still nothing.
Before this happended, I did unplug the monitor from a hot computer. I killed the power to the monitor and unplugged it. Could that have messed it up??

And you have turned off, unplugged the monitor power, replugged and powered on?
If so, yes, it looks bad...
