You can download them from support.dell.com or use the ones on the driver CD; your choice.

Notebook system software:

In order, you need to:

Install Service Pack 2
Install the chipset driver
Install the notebook system software
Install the video, audio, modem, network, and trackpad drivers.

Ok, I'm installing SP2 right now. I just have a few questions about ejn63's response if they (or anyone else) could respond.

When it says to install drivers, do you mean from Dell's website, or the physical CD? I think I have the modem, network, and audio ones already installed, because I can browse the internet and play audio, but I could be wrong.

Also, would exactly is meant by "system software"? Which programs in particular?

I apologize if any of these seem like stupid questions, and I appreciate any help someone is willing to give.

Well, seems to work now. I think I just never installed the video driver.

Anyway, thanks for your help ejn63.

I am having the same problem.  After I reformatted my PC, I have not been able to adjust the screen resolution. I have tried reinstalling the drivers from the utility disk. I also browsed the operating CD but no help either.

--the screen is shown in 10 point arial, which is very small  (800x 600) and I only have two options--very very big fonts or very very small.

Prior to reformatting the hard drive I was at least able to have a few more color options, however, now I only have 16 and 32 but no 256.

Any ideas?

Sincerely,

Fabian
