GX280 broadcom nic dropping off network

Question

Have about sixty GX280 with Broadcom 57XX nics running on Netware environment with XP sp2 with XP firewall off. Work fine for a few hours, then lose connectivity or drop and connect again. Sometimes I have to reset the switches -unplug and replug. All ports are open and switches are set to auto. Have downloaded the latest drivers from Dell site - still has problems. Replaced fiber convertor last week and still has problems getting an IP and /or dropping off network. I read somewhere there is a conflict with Broadcom nics and some switches. These are Extreme switches. Any other options?

I just read a more recent posting that mentions flap detection and Cisco switches, same Dell. Have you resolved? I am asking particularly because we are thinking of June upgrade to Gigabit LAN (I have been here since 1997 using 10/100 Ethernet all across campus, tech support person).
