ChatXPS400,

The NVIDIA GeForce 6800 (not Ultra, not GT, just plain) is a 256mb video card.

Here's what I got from dell (e-mail response).......

....... The XPS 400 has the Nvidia 6800 Ultra card as the 256MB upgrade.

So, I guess we're getting the Ultra. That's great! :smileyvery-happy:

You know what, i'll just find out when I get my machine. Then i'll let people know. This is crazy, because the GeForce 6800 Ultra is a $400-500 card.

As mentioned, you're getting a regular Geforce 6800, not a GT, not an Ultra. It's a low-end card at this point, but still more than adequate for any game (unless you just HAVE to run it at a crazy resolution with every single feature turned on).

That's just wierd, the 6800 vanilla (plain) is advertised as 128MB on the website, and everywhere else on the web I looked.

Since it says it's 256MB, it'll be 256MB. Generally the retail 6800 wasn't offered with that, as it's no benefit to performance. It's probably just a marketing gimick (otherwise some uninformed people would pick the x600 as a "better" card since it has 256MB).
