I'm posting this to agree with you.
I've had my 2405 for about a month and it works perfectly. A particularly impressive bit of fun software is RealFlight G3, a radio controlled model airplane simulator. It looks unbelievable on the 2405.
No problems so far, I'm running XP Media Centre (sorry, Center - I'm Canadian) with Office 2003 Pro. This, and all other software I'm running looks great on the big monitor.
A satisfied customer.

I forgot to mention that I'm running the 2405FPW from a two-year old Radeon 9700 Pro card via the VGA connector.  I was worried that I might need to buy a new graphics card and run DVI but I can't see even a hint of ghosting (or any other problem with the image).

This is using the VGA cable supplied with the monitor but being careful to not run it near any power cords.

I have a Dell 8250 with the 2405FPW and 128MB ATI Radeon 9700 Pro. Is there any reason you're not using the DVI connection?

I updated my drivers back in June just before getting the 2405. It's version 6.14.10.6525. There is no contrast settings with a DVI connection. However, I just checked card options and I could adjust contrast there. I will have to play around with it. Actually I never changed any settings by way of the card. I would just go to the ATI site and download the latest drivers. You will need to "FIRST" delete your current ATI drivers. Also I didn't install the control center, just the drivers and control panel.

Thanks, I should have updated drivers earlier too but never had the time (in case there were any problems).

Just a few minutes ago my system went into screensaver mode and locked up solid when I tries to use it.  When I rebooted, it came back in 800x600 mode.  Seems that my drivers and DVI don't get along.

When I went back to the VGA cable/connector all was OK but I noticed that slight shimmer again.  It wasn't there when I used the DVI cable.  I wasn't going to upgrade the drivers and switch over to DVI since I couldn't see a difference, but getting rid of that shimmer is worth the possible trouble I might run into updating the drivers+control panel (especially after so long).

I'll post an update here when it's done.  Thanks again!

LOL...sheesh, what an idiot...me, that is.

I had convinced myself that my card only had a single D-SUB connector and, with all of the cables running down the back of my system covering the rest of the card's connectors, I didn't notice that it had a DVI connector too.

Very embarassing.  My only defense is that I haven't had to look back there in over a year.

I switched over to the DVI cable/connector and it all looks good.  Not sure it it's any better than the VGA cable/connector though.  But, it should be and that's enough to stick with it.

I did lose, expectedly, some OSD settings.  delta7000, what driver version are you using?  I haven't updated for long, long time (never needed to) and still have version 6.14.10.6387.  Do I regain the ability to set my contrast, etc. by upgrading the driver?

Thanks!
