Your video card may not be able to handle the higher resolution. Did you think of that ? What video card do you have ? Some games also may not support the higher resolutions, and have to settle for lower.

Good question. I do believe my dual BFG 7800GTX 512 OC's in SLI can handle 1920x1200.
Ignoring my main problem for a moment I would like to return to my original question:
"I downloaded the R91058 updater for my 2405FPW. The stated driver date on the download page is 01/22/2006. Unfortunatly the date stamp on the driver once installed is 12/20/2004 (driver version 1.0). Can anyone point me to the 01/22/2006 driver?"
Each new version date as shown for R91058 always uzipped the same 12/21/04 driver ... I just checked the one I dl'd last year showing "11/05/2005" and yes indeed it has "12/21/04" in it ... so it seems there really has never been any updated drive since that time!
