The 1505 doesn't make the 6000 obsolete.  What can your 6000 suddenly not do, that it could do yesterday?

Imagine a world where nothing new ever came along.  How would you like to be driving a Ford Maverick, or an AMC Gremlin?  Innovation is good.

I only just got my Ins 6000... compared to my old one its shiny... I honestly don't need anymore in a laptop - it does more than I want anyway!

With the current development in the technique used in computers and notebooks, there allways will be a newer faster slimmer cheaper notebook. so all notebooks are obsolete in your eyes.

But with computers, thats life... you can buy something completely top of the range, with the safety of knowing that it is going to be out of date in a matter of months...

True Bright is the biggest gain in my opinion. The processor I knew will always change, but the display is a significant improvement.

I'm don't want to halt technology, but I hate to be the one who buys something, and 2 months later it is old.

The 6000 has been on the market for over a year now - that's a good indication that it's due for replacement, as notebooks generally run a 6-12 month cycle before replacement.

I saw this post and got worried. So i went and looked at the E1505. Yeah...im going to say aside from the proc, its a downgrade. Besides the proc, what does it have thats really better than the 6000? Is the UXGA no longer available?

Slighty better battery, 85 whr vs 80 whr available as an option. And truebright displays.

You're absolutely right, it appears that they are not currently providing WUXGA displays, but I think too many people complained about fonts being too small to read and thus there were a lot of returns. I think both XGA and SXGA are best for most people.

I bet in a few months they will come out with better graphics cards and maybe a built in tv tuner.

i searched in the specs and configuration off the E1505 and did not see any battery with 85 whr so i don't think there is any.

Battery
6-cell (53 WHr) "Smart" Lithium Ion battery:
9-cell (80 WHr) "Smart" Lithium Ion battery:
Bullet Optional: Spare 9-cell battery also available

this is wat the specs page says.

TONEBALONE,  I loved driving an AMC Gremlin with the distorted windshield glass!:smileyvery-happy:
It was like looking through the bottom of a drinking glass!  I stuck my head out the side window to check for on-coming traffic before making left turns!  Oh, how I miss the adventure..:smileysurprised:

Hehe, I had one myself.  It was lime green, just like on the Autotrader commercial.  But at least it wasn't a Pinto!:smileyvery-happy:
