Unless your pc is directly connected to the printer the network scan does not work from the pc. I know, super moronic but thats by design.... dell tech notified me on similar call.
I got a call back from Dell support yesterday (21st) to tell me that what I was attempting was possible but Dell Tech support could not help me with software/configuration issues, only hardware. :smileymad:
Interesting that you were told differently.
The manual seems to state that it is possible - pages 56/58
Due to my less than polite previous conversations they have offered me a complete refund. So decision time.
Is there a competitor product, in the price range, that will do what I want? Any sugestions?
network scanning works, but it works how it was designed to work.. It wasn't intended for the PC to initiate the scan, it was met to scan a doc at the printer and then send the scanned image over the network to the specific PC.
Well yes, it does work by design but not how the typical user would like to use it. as far as suggestions, Well anything on the higher end of the print world would be better than dell's lexmark technology.
