I have the same issues. I have the WXGA+ and I am very disappointed with the screen clarity. All of the fonts look broken and washed out. I have tried all options on the PC including enabling the clear type. Just moved from a D800 to this mainly because of weight and size. Travel alot and have gotten tired of the bulk of the 800. I knew the screen would be smaller but the clarity is horrible. Getting ready to call Dell Support. Good Luck
" An alternative to our popular online ClearType Tuner, Windows XP PowerToy lets you activate and tune your ClearType settings via the Windows Control Panel.
* download - ClearType Tuner PowerToy
* location - http://download.microsoft.com
* file details - setup.exe – 2.47MB
* requirements - Windows XP
* installation - Select the download location. Choose 'Run' or save the file to a local drive and run it from there.
* use - Access the tuner from the Windows Control Panel."
The above utility makes 'ClearType' worthwhile, it is like an "eye exam" [this look better? or this? etc.]
Thanks for the info on ClearType. I also got with Dell and updated my driver. Don't think I was getting the native resolution 1440x990. Driver along with ClearType tool make it better that it was. Good luck and thanks again.
