Help on AC Adapter for Inspiron 1150

Question

My original AC adaptor got cut so I couldn't charge me battery. I bought a replacement on ebay from japan with UK plug and when I started using it, it charged up fine. I come back a few hours later and the laptop won't start up just on AC power. I needed to use battery to start it and its now not charging. When I plug in AC adapter, the battery icon still stays up but flashes to AC icon for split second and goes back to battery. Basically its not charging my battery but it used to and its only a few hours old. It's a PA-10 adapter.

The charging circuitry is failing - the mainboard will need to be replaced.
