Please add me to the list if I am not already added.

P.S. I also received this monitor on 5/22 placed the order on 5/18.  Just wanted to state that mine has the problem as well and from all the games I play along with a few wallpapers I have this problem is very noticeable, however aside from that this monitor compared to others I think has the best overall image quality and brightness than most others for around this price.  From working with a company where I do tons of RMA's RMA is a cake walk for me but I really do like this monitor and feel that if this can be fixed the correct way permanently that everyone or most will be happy with this monitor.  So hopefully sticking with this will pay off.  Keep us posted and thanks again Chris.

Deusx-Machina: Faroudja processing is indeed for scaling/deinterlacing. Also - I don't think it's broken per se - it's just not meant to be used with PC signals. It's really meant for processing TV signals for use on digital displays. What surprises me is that Dell's engineers seem have it enabled for all inputs by default, and there is no way to turn it off (other than the firmware upgrade).

Hey ChrisM, i was in the other thread but i just wanted to make sure u got me on the PM list. Also I had a question, you said "eliminating the banding issue when using the Desktop mode. All of these monitors have three display modes: Desktop, Multimedia and Gaming. The firmware turns off Faroudja video processing in Desktop mode. It remains enabled in the other two modes." Now are you saying that only desktop mode is fixed? if so, then is all dell did was disable the Faroudja video processing (what is this btw? i think it has to do with video deinterlacing and video scaling but i want to make sure.)? Again if so, is there any point in time where Dell will actually FIX the Faroudja video processing on this(these) monitor(s)?

Thanks again for all your help Chris

Cut Dell some slack. If it fixes banding/blur in desktop mode, I would be happy.

When everyone was testing, people tested the highly regarded NEC widescreen. Guess what? It had banding in it's other modes, only the standard mode didn't have banding. Likely a common beahvior.

No one seems concerned with NEC banding in other modes.

I just need one working mode.
