if the i6000 has a mini pci slot.. why wouldn't it be? =)

i replaced my "dell truemobile" broadcomm card with an atheros one and it works fine you just gotta find the drivers for the hard which isn't hard =) MAKE SURE THE CARD YOU ARE BUYING IS A MINI PCI CARD... should be a small square shape device usually a little bigger then the most touch pads

Yeah, I'm fairly certain the 3945 will fit into the mini-pci slot. I was just concerned that the I6000 mobo may not support the Wake on Wireless (WoWLAN) feature of the 3945. I currently have the Intel Pro 2200, which does not support WoWLAN.

Thanks.

The new mini-pci are smaller so i dont know if it would fit your 6000.

Leo, are you referring to the PCMCIA slot?  As far as I know, no changes have been made to mini-PCI, but PCMCIA is being superseded by the new ExpressCard devices.

So, the 3945 is mini-PCI Express.  You won't be able to use this in the 6000.  See the differences here: http://www1.us.dell.com/content/learnmore/learnmore.aspx?c=us&cs=04&l=en&s=bsd&~id=dfamilywireless&~mode=popup&~tab=other

I have since learned - from Dell Spare Parts - that the Intel Pro 2200bg/2915abg and the 3945abg are two different form factors.

Product images seem to confirm this.

Thanks for finding that page. That's precisely what I was looking for, but never found.
