I paid for a 30" PC monitor and near TWO months ago (in Japan) and every time I call when I should get it, there's a smooth, shameless string of apologies and some date promise for the near future . This behavior is unprecedented in Japan.
I don't blame you for being upset but please skip the snide nationalistic remarks about shameless behavior being unprecedented in Japan. We have long memories.
Please dont add fuel to the fire. This doesnt solve anything.
Everyone has had their bad AND good experiences with EVERYONE of all shapes and sizes. Its how the world is now. I am sure you would be mad to and also I want to point out obviously English is not his main language so he might not understand the weight of his words.
Mahsudesh ->
why dont you just cancel your order and get your money back? this is the best way to show them you dont like their service.

Bad English? I understood him clearly and he deserved to be called out.
was he targeting any of you individually or YOUR SERVICE? no, he wasnt targeting you...he was targeting the company for its (in that situation) deservedly bad service...
NO_ONE "deserves" to be called out like that...
have you ever received racial discrimination? im sure you havent from the way you both are acting....
and he english was not 100% proper and correct.
in the 2007WFP topics, people have FLAMED and FLAMED dell for many reasons pertaining towards that monitor, yet how come they were not called out on it?....how come a frustrated customer from another country is NOT allowed to flame Dell, while people who obviously speak english first is allowed to flame and not given ANY racial discriminatory remarks?
if you ordered a monitor, paid for it, and didnt receive it 3 months later with no REAL response, you would be ok with it? please. you would cry for the heads of the management who was responsible for this travesty.
and dont point out Japans past actions when we only have to look at OUR OWN CURRENT ACTIONS in Iraq. And dont even bother calling me un-patriotic, the truth is the truth. we are not as clean as we hope//think/want to be.
Don't turn this into some politically correct soap box so you feel better about yourself, he knows what he posted and deserves to be called on it, period. This isn't about racism, you need to learn the difference between racism and nationalism, so your examples (and your insinuations about our racism) are pretty much baseless.
Bottom line, I don't believe the basis of his rant, a few things you should remember...
1. Your order isn't charged until it ships. He wasn't billed 2 months ago and if for some odd reason he was, they will correct it with a phone call.
2. If he ordered from Dell Japan ranting here serves no purpose, regions and countries have their own sites within Dell.com for just this kind of routing.
3. He insinuates he has spoken to the president of Dell "talking on the phone with some sort of ready excuse". Do you really believe if a customer complaint got all the way to the direct phone line of the president of the company that customers issue would not have been immediately resolved?
4. A consumer in Japan cannot file a class action against an American parent company, and what constitutes class action overseas is very different.
There are too many inconsistencies in this rant to make it worth entertaining. And then you try to turn it into a debate on race, but his insinuation wasn't about white vs. yellow, but how deceptive American business and culture is.
A folded postcard acknowledges the receipt of my payment of 230,100 Yen on 2006/04/17 which includes such details as order number, customer number and 3007WFP HAS … (reference to the product). The receipt format is, naturally, in Japanese. Very little IQ and curiosity are required to guess that there may be other ways to pay for purchase orders overseas. In Japan, bank transfer is by far more common than it is in USA. If you can read Japanese, go to Japan’s DELL website and be verified.

My intention was to alert an unaware, innocent buyer who might tread the same track and to find out if there are others who’re experiencing the same. If you are defending dell because it pays you, you’re just doing your job. I have no beef with dell. After all I have paid a lot of money to buy their product (and maybe part of your salary?!).

The store manger of the DELL showroom in Akihabara, Tokyo, called the DELL (Japan) president and I talked to him for an extended amount of time. Mind you I gave him an earful that he bore all the way till I felt relieved: Right in the showroom in presence of the sleek manger and a dozen unwary prospective buyers!

I let others rub you on this!

I am a consumer, Einstein; it does not have to do the any of your poetry. I just want to know why a DELL company gets my money and tells me wait, wait, wait…. I would’ve done just the same should any Japanese, or whatever or wherever company. Wake up. No PC is entirely made in one country alone. But if you just have to say all this because you’re paid for, well, it is understandable!
Please lighten up. We are all here to assist each other. That is the purpose of this Forum.
Mahsudesh,
Let me see if I can find a contact in Dell Japan to track the order. Please provide me with the following information in a private message, not on the board -
Complete name of person to contact:
Shipping address:
Daytime phone of contact:
Service tag:
Reason: TV tracking

I'm from the UK and as far as I am aware this is the only DELL community forum in existence regardless of where you live.
