I feel stupid now, thought I'd done that. Apparently not. Seems like shutting down with the power button isn't the same as pulling the plug. I guess everybody on this forum with monitor USB problems should try this. THANKS!
On second thought, it makes sense not to shut USB down when you just want to turn off the display.

This worked for me to! The power service flashed off and on a few times the other night, that's when the usb hub stopped working. I thought maybe it got fried. In addition to unplugging the monitor I also had to reboot the PC. Thanks!
