Hardware Support Chat for MONITORS

This is a massive vent and rant, so be warned. I have a 2007WFP with banding. Dell is releasing a statement soon. 'Nuff said. Anyway, I prefer to speak to Dell via chat. It's easy to perform their troubleshooting steps cause I don't have to put down and pick up a phone, disconnection is less likely, and you get a nice log of everything said emailed to you. THAT SAID, I am infinitely frustrated that a Dell monitor owner cannot directly reach the category of chat hardware support that helps with monitors. Why? You have three chat choices: Sales, Order, and Hardware. I haven't tried Sales. I started with Order and they transferred me to 'hardware' chat, which is what I've been doing? And why is that? Because you must enter a service tag to access hardware chat directly, even though Dell monitors ***don't have service tags*** (as far as I know). It's ridiculously clunky to have to wait in the Order/Sales chat queue, then tell the agent you actually need hardware support for a non-PC system, and then get transferred to another queue. I understand Dell wants the service tag so that their support agents can look up their info for whatever PC the problem is with, but in my experience Dell always asks you for the service tag again anyway. How many times have you called tech support for Dell or anyone, been asked to enter your phone number or some other number before getting in the queue for an agent, and then have the live agent ask you the exact same question first thing? Has anybody else had this experience? It's just too annoying to wait on hold and then try to conduct a conversation about a thorny issue like the defective 2007WFPs across the language and knowledge barrier that frequently exists with phone support agents, but having to jump through hoops to get to the 'Dell Preferred' support method, chat, is absurd.

You can start from sales chat, and ask them to forward to tech support or anyone. It's what I do always for my 2405 with no service tags.
