Latitude X1 and D-Link DI-524 Router

Question

Just bought a Latitude X1 and it sees my D-Link DI-524 network but gives the error 'Limited or No Connectivity'.  If I remove the WPA security (leaving it either unsecured or WEP-secured) I can connect with no problems.  I have tried removing all firewalls, added a couple of WinFix applications, downloaded patches from Microsoft, etc. to no avail.   Dell Tech Support said that the problem is with the router.   Since it only allows for a passphrase in WPA mode and not a Network Key, the X1 (unlike my older Inspiron 1100) cannot establish a connection.  Again, my older Inspiron connects fine to the WPA-secured network mode but, I have had to downgrade to the less secure WEP in order to get the Latitude X1 to connect.   Two Questions I was hoping to get guidance on:   1.  Does what tech support told me make sense?   2.  If 'yes' to # 1, is there a router that someone might recommend that allows for a true 'network key' that would allow the X1 (and Inspiron 1100) to connect via WPA?   Thanks in advance

I would first suggest upgrading the firmware for your router. Steve

I am currently using the latest firmware version: 3.20
